Looks like only 1 of the 2 tomato plants I received as a gift from Adriene will hopefully survive and produce some produce for us this summer... This is the "better Boy" plant as the cherry tomato plant might not get going soon enough to produce this year. I gave up on the backyard garden this year as it froze up till last week so I decided to wait till next year and hopefully spring will show up instead of just going from winter to summer like it did this year. Oh well!!!

Summertime!!!
We can only hope that it has arrived here in the high country.. I made a trip to Windmill Hill Nursery and tried to mimic Becky's previous flower box!! With a geranium/vinca vine and a grass I only hope they will get bigger and fill out the edges of the planter box on the driveway. At last we were fortunate to have the lilac tree in the backyard flower with a full tree full of very fragrant blooms!! You only have to venture out the back door and the aroma will greet you!!

HISTORY/MEMORIES

It might not mean much to many of you readers but this license plate means a whole lot to me!!

My dad owned a 79 ford f-150 ..Since he bought it new he had 292 and when he died a few years ago he wanted me to have the license plate #292!! I couldn't afford to have it on my 2004 (with the xtra transfer and additional months added to the expiration date of my "old 78" that it was originally placed on), so I finally got it transferred to my "new" 2004 truck where I hope to keep it till I retire it myself!!

Thanks DAD!!

THE FIREWOOD!!!
As you can see I have been busy cutting up beetle trees at the cabin and hauling it home to the driveway.. In this photo you can see the small white larvae of the pinebark beetle that is infecting the trees.. This particular tree was cut down last November and as you can see the "critters" survived all winter and now I hope to kill them by covering this "pile" of wood with clear plastic sheeting and "baking" them to death. At least that is the plan so I will let you know later this summer if it was a success..
