On our first full day in Kauai we went on a "cruise" and I was able to 'snorkle' in a place that the captain chose that had a lot of fish to see! I bought an underwater camera but as you can see they aren't very good photo's but hey I tried!! They were so close you could reach out and almost touch them!! Pretty neat!!

Recently a couple took a vacation to the tropical island of Kauai, Hawaii and while at 'Smiths Tropical Paradise', we had this picture taken with 2 of our 'friends'!! Hopefully you will find the blogs enjoyable to view as it was great to experience!! Aloha (hello) Mahalo(thank you) for viewing my blog!!
Here is a Monk Seal on the beach at Poipu while we were swimming/suntanning.. They are protected so the lifeguards immediately showed up and put a rope barrier around them to keep the tourists away. (they say they bite) so maybe that is another reason to keep away!! This one eventually made it's way to the ocean but we never saw it swim away!!
We also seen one 'lounging' at Shipwreck Beach not far from our condo!!
While the locals hate them the tourists think they are 'cute'!! They are the chickens on the island!! They are everywhere except at our condo!! When hurricane Iniki hit the islands it allowed the local chickens to be set free and boy do they populate!! It is the only 'road kill' we seen while on the island!! They start to 'cock-a-doo-da-lo at 3:30 am and continue all day!!
If you are looking to stay in a modern updated place to sleep/stay this is the place to go!! We had 2 bedrooms (this is the spare room on the right) with everything you have at home!! (honest even a mop/ broom and dustpan)!! It is truely a plush place to stay!! I would recommend it anyone who is thinking of taking a vacation to Hawaii!!
